ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has invited the applications for attending the annual Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Nizamuddin Aulia by June 16, 2016, according to an official of the ministry.
The Urs celebrations are scheduled to be held in Delhi, India from January 12 to 19, 2017. The applicants are required to submit a non-refundable fee of Rs 1,000 could be deposited online in the National Bank account. Original receipt of the deposited amount should be attached along with the application.
According to the ministry, only 250 Pakistani pilgrims are allowed to attend the Urs and in case the number of applicants exceeds the required quota, the lucky participants would be selected on June 30 through balloting. Women are not eligible to apply as decision of the Council of Islamic Ideology.
Aspiring pilgrims of under 25 years of age and persons, who already attended any Urs in India in last 18 months should not apply. The application forms/details could be downloaded from the website of the ministry. The each successful applicant would be informed through intimation letter after one month of the balloting.
The successful applicants are required to submit essential expenditures and other travel documents to section officer (Ziarat), Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony immediately after receiving the letters. Original passport and traveling documents are required to be submitted three months prior to the departure as security clearance of Zaireen (pilgrims) needs at least two months as per agreed criteria.
The Indian Embassy does not accept the passports for stamping visa whose expiry date is less than eight months from the Urs dates. Such applicants must renew their passports at the earliest to avoid rejection of visa. The Indian embassy accepts visa applications online. The applicants should fill the forms online and send it to the ministry online.
