KARACHI – A 38-member delegation led by Speaker of Sri Lanka Karu Jayasuriya called on Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan here at the Governor House on Saturday.
Ebad spoke of the very close friendly ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. He also called for promoting the trade, economic and academic ties between the two countries. The governor also called for resumption of cricketing ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and that this should start from Karachi.
He pointed out that Sri Lanka eliminated the menace of terrorism after three decades. He said that the armed forces had also broken the back of terrorists who were now on the run. The Sri Lankan speaker said that he was very happy to undertake visit to Pakistan.
He stated that Pakistan was the most suitable country for the religious tourism. The speaker said that he also desired that cricket matches between the two countries should be held without any delay. He also invited the Sindh governor to visit Sri Lanka.
